Bosses Day lunch

n The volunteers of the Komen North Mississippi Race for the Cure encourage you to treat your boss to lunch and benefit a good cause on Oct. 11 at Outback Steakhouse.

Jonathan Waller and his staff are donating their time and food to provide a family-style meal in observance of National Bosses Day, with all proceeds benefiting the Komen North Mississippi Race for the Cure.

Two seatings will be available, 11 a.m. to noon and noon to 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, and limited tickets are available.

Peabody to host

dinner with Paula Deen

n The Peabody Memphis will host a special dining event with the “Queen of Southern Cooking” -Paula Deen – on Sept. 30.

The “Dinner with Paula Deen” will take place from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in The Peabody’s Capriccio Grill. Deen will mingle with guests as she shares some of her favorite Southern recipes. The four-course dinner includes multiple options for each course. The cost is $150 per person. For reservations, call (901) 529-4199.

Host of the Food Network’s “Paula’s Home Cooking” and author of several cookbooks, Deen will be in Memphis to make appearances at the Mid-South Fair. The event at The Peabody, however, will be the only opportunity to dine on Paula Deen’s Southern dishes.
