Going out or staying in, here's your guide to New Year's Eve

By Sheena Barnett/NEMS Daily Journal

It’s time to say adios to 2010 and welcome 2011 with open arms. There’s plenty to do on New Year’s Eve, whether you choose to go out or stay inside. Here are your options:

Going out
New Year’s Eve blowout, Lucky Joe’s, Tupelo.
The bar is hosting three floors of music starting at 8 p.m. Playing the first floor will be John Milstead, Shag-a-doo and the Spunk Monkees. DJs Drumm, Devo and Drive will take over the second floor, with Crashing Broadway, My Oh My and Two Upon Three playing the third floor.
My Oh My is North Mississippi’s newest rock band, only about two months old.
“We sound like Fall Out Boy meshed with A Day to Remember,” said bass player Jeremy Blount. “We’re pop rock with a heavy edge.”
The band, based out of the Bruce area, promises a rowdy show.
“Our live show is super duper energetic. We’re constantly moving,” he said.
