Lee and Itawamba county health departments are offering free tetanus vaccinations in the wake of Monday’s tornado.

The Mississippi Department of Health is recommending a Tdap booster for those involved in debris clean up if they have not had a tetanus booster in the past 10 years. They are at increased risk of injury and possible tetanus infection.

The free vaccines are available at any health department for people who reside in federally declared counties affected by the tornadoes, including Itawamba, Lee, Lowndes, Madison, Rankin, Wayne and Winston.
