Holly Springs, New Albany tours

– The 72nd annual Holly Springs Pilgrimage begins today and goes through Sunday.
The event is sponsored by the Holly Springs Garden Club and features tours of several antebellum homes hosted by costumed guides; local storytellers; organ recitals in the town’s historic churches; horse-drawn carriage rides; Civil War re-enactors; luncheons; a character-guided cemetery tour; arts and crafts; and a Southern supper in the antebellum Montrose mansion.
Proceeds from the tour benefit the preservation and restoration of historic Montrose.

– The Historic Northside District Garden Club of New Albany will host its 2010 Home and Garden Walking Tour on Saturday, May, 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Five homes and four gardens will be featured on the tour. Tickets are $10 and are available at the Union County Development Association Office at 135 E. Bankhead St., the Union County Museum on Cleveland Street or from garden club members.
UCDA will have shuttle carts available for those who prefer to ride.
