Holly Springs opens its doors once again for annual Christmas tour

HOLLY SPRINGS – The 25th Annual Christmas Tour of Homes, the sole fund-raising event for the Marshall County Historical Museum, is Saturday and Sunday in Holly Springs.

Twelve homes and historic properties will be available for tours on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

On the tour are the Marshall County Historical Museum (1903); the Hugh Craft House (1851); Polk Place (1836); Magnolias (1852); Burton Place (1842); Gwydir (1886); Herndon (1845); Finley Place (1859); Church of the Yellow Fever Martyr (1841); Chalmers Institute (1837/57); Thistledome in Byhalia (1840/1906); and Fitch Farms-Galena Plantation.

Additional events Saturday include a Christmas Gifts Bazaar at the Sabbath School, Local Craftsmen Holiday Market, two seatings of the Belles & Books Luncheon and a Christmas parade. On Sunday, the Christmas Gifts Bazaar continues and there is a concert by the Rust College A’capella Choir at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at preservemarshallcounty.org/holly-springs-christmas-home-tour or at the Marshall County Historical Museum on the days of the tours.

All proceeds go toward the museum’s future programs and enhanced exhibits, which feature three floors of artifacts relating to the layers of history unique to Marshall County.
