The Northeast Mississippi Rose Society will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the North Mississippi Research and Extension Center in Verona.
Lavonne Glover, a successful rosarian and exhibitor from Winfield, Ala., will share her secrets for growing prize-winning roses. This program will be very helpful for those planning to enter flowers in this year’s Rose Show in May.

MSU hort club hosts
annual sale April 5-6
Mississippi State University’s horticulture club will inspire garden enthusiasts with a wide variety of plants at its annual spring plant sale in Starkville.
This year’s sale will take place next Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 6 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside the campus greenhouses behind Dorman Hall on MSU’s main campus. The event is free and open to the public.
Student-grown bedding plants, baskets with flowering plants, perennials, herbs and some vegetable plants will be available. Proceeds from the sale support horticulture club service projects.

‘Small Space Gardening’

Join the Lee County Master Gardeners for the next Learning Series program, “Small Space Gardening” on April 9 at 6 p.m. at the Lee County Extension Office on Cliff Gookin Boulevard in Tupelo.
Master Gardener Russ Hutcheson will share information on how your patios, decks and small yards with full sun can produce a lot of vegetables. You will learn four methods you can use to have a vegetable patch in your small space.
