JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Jackson State University is making iPads available to incoming freshman students as part of the university’s second annual scholarship program.
The iPads will be distributed Tuesday and Wednesday. Training will be available Wednesday and again Sept. 9-Sept. 12 at the student center.
Jackson State has partnered with the Mississippi e-Center Foundation for the program that integrates the device into the curriculum and tracks students’ learning through an ongoing study.
In the past year, JSU has invested in technological upgrades and innovations.
Wi-Fi is now available in every part of the campus. A cyber learning summit was held this past spring, allowing JSU officials to share information about the iPad initiative and other programs.
The university has also added cyber learning as a core function of academic affairs.
