OXFORD – James Franco’s film adaptation of William Faulkner’s “As I Lay Dying,” starring north Mississippi actors and filmed in Mississippi, will get its theatrical premiere in Oxford on Monday.
The screening is 7 p.m. Monday at The Lyric Oxford.
Tupelo actress Casey Dillard and Baldwyn actor Kenny Cook landed roles in the movie, which also stars Franco, Logan Marshall-Green, Danny McBride and Tim Blake Nelson.
“As I Lay Dying” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and has been screened in New York and Los Angeles.
Tickets are $20.
There will be a Q&A following the screening with actors, producer Lee Caplin and executive producer Heidi Jo Markel.
The Lyric is also where Faulkner’s “Intruder in the Dust” premiered in 1949.
