LYNYRD SKYNYRD AND DOOBIE BROTHERS SET
The Tupelo Coliseum will host a night of classic rock ‘n’ roll May 14 when Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Doobie Brothers combine for a concert at the arena.
Tupelo is one of 60 venues for the Lynyrd Skynyrd ’96 tour. The group, known for its signature tune, “Free Bird,” is one of the most critically acclaimed rock bands to emerge from the heart of the American South.
The Doobie Brothers are celebrating 25 years of making music. They have released 14 albums, earning 13 gold and 11 multi-platinum sales awards.
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night concert are $22.50 plus service charge, and all seats are reserved. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 13 at all regular Ticket King outlets and at the Coliseum Box Office. Tickets can also be purchased by phone using VISA, Mastercard or Discover at 841-6528.
Lottery tickets will be handed out Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12. Only 750 lottery tickets will be handed out. Only one lottery ticket will be allowed per person and ticket customers will be allowed to buy up to six tickets. No lineups will be permitted on the Coliseum lot before 7 a.m. The drawing to determine the starting number for the lottery tickets will be held at 9 a.m. April 13.
