Elvis Presley Festival

TUPELO – 2007 Elvis Presley Festival will begin Thursday and continue through Sunday, June 3 in downtown Tupelo. Barbecue contest

BALDWYN – B-Town BBQ will feature a barbecue contest, Show & Shine Car Show, arts and crafts, entertainment, food, Mid-South Fair preliminary talent show, pancake breakfast and more on Friday and Saturday.

Pioneer demonstrations

TUPELO – The Tombigbee Pioneer Group will perform living history demonstrations from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the Natchez Trace Parkway’s Tupelo Visitor Center (located at milepost 266), from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 2, featuring corn shuck doll making, basket weaving, beading, quill pen demonstrations, a longhunter’s program involving early medicines, leatherworking and mountain dulcimer demonstrations throughout the day. Fishing

BROOKSVILLE – The Friends of Noxubee Refuge will sponsor Ladies Bait Your Hook beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Noxubee Refuge Visitor Center. Women of all ages who want to learn about and get involved in fishing will enjoy this informal session on the various types of freshwater fishing. After the
