Sanctuary Hospice director to retire

Daily Journal

TUPELO – Sanctuary Hospice House’s executive director, Linda Gholston, has announced her retirement effective this summer.

The Sanctuary board made the announcement Thursday.

Gholston has led the nonprofit hospice program since January 2005. The west Tupelo facility accepted its first patient in November 2005 and has since served more than 2,100 patients, as well as an additional 700 through its home hospice program that began in 2010.

Before coming to Sanctuary, Gholston had served in leadership roles at North Mississippi Medical Center, Grenada Lake Medical Center and the Batson and Wiser hospitals at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

A committee is expected to begin the search for Gholston’s successor this spring.

Job well done Linda Joy!! I described Sanctuary to my Mother as a small piece of Heaven..That is the way I felt when i first came there to visit, and the feeling only got greater as I came inside.. I do give you credit for that and certainly do appreciate all the hard work. Sure hate to see you retire but you deserve it. Wish the board the very best in the search to fill some mighty big shoes.. Enjoy!!
