It was a glorious day on July 23 when Second Baptist members entered their new 11,000-square-foot sanctuary for their first worship service. Second Baptist, formerly known as Center Hill, was established before the 1800s.
Sunday school was in the old sanctuary followed by the congregation marching into the new facility singing, “I’ve Learned How To Lean and Depend On Jesus.” Pastor Larry M. Stone, associate ministers and deacons led the march.
More than 300 attended the dedication services at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The program consisted of special music, poems and a message delivered by the Rev. Nollen Elzie, pastor of the Zion Spring MBC in Okolona. Also in attendance were out-of-town guests who were former members of Second Baptist.
We pray and believe God has placed the church on this corner in this community to make a difference.
