Since our first meeting this spring, all of the albums for Album Club have been hand-picked.
We’ve listened to everything from “Tea for the Tillerman” by Cat Stevens to “Fantasy Memorial” by Dinosaur Feathers to “Memphis Blues” by Cyndi Lauper.
December, we’re shaking things up a bit.
Our December album is BYOA – bring your own album.
Whatever album you want to bring to this month’s Album Club meeting, bring it.
Maybe it’s your favorite album of 2010, or the first album you bought with your own money.
Maybe it’s the album that got you through college, or the album you were addicted to as a child.
Maybe it’s the last album you purchased, or maybe it’s the last album you purchased in a store.
You can have any reason in the world to bring it. Just be ready to play one song from it and talk about the album and what it means to you.
The record could’ve been released Tuesday or 50 years ago. It could be an album you love or an album you hate. Don’t worry if it’s “Sgt. Pepper” or the obscurest of the most obscure albums.
Bring your CDs, vinyl records or mp3 players – I’ll make sure we have all three players available (sorry, no 8-tracks!).
We’ll take a break from Joe Joe’s Espresso this month to meet at the Lee County Library’s Conference Room. The meeting is 6 p.m. today.
Hope to see you there.
