Say goodbye to Scene as you know it. We have a few changes happening, so let me lead you through it.
For the past five years, Scott Morris and I have divided arts and entertainment right down the middle. He covered the North Mississippi arts scene (think the Tupelo Symphony
Orchestra, theater and art galleries), while I’ve covered the entertainment, music and pop culture (like bands coming to the BancorpSouth Arena and other area venues and festivals).
Scott’s arts coverage has always run in the Sunday Living section, while my entertainment coverage has gone right here, in the Scene section.
Beginning with next week’s Scene section, all of the arts and entertainment coverage will go in Scene.
I take over covering all arts and entertainment. Scott will be telling the stories of North Mississippians over in the Living section on Sundays.
All of the arts and entertainment goings-on in Northeast Mississippi is quite a lot to fit into one section, but I’ll do the best I can.
We’re also working on creating an arts and entertainment website that will be the place to go to get info on what’s happening in the area.
I have lots of ideas for the new site, including using video and audio for stories, reviews and podcasts.
We’re basically making things more simple. If you want to know what arts and entertainment is happening in Northeast Mississippi, you’ll be able to turn to this section in the paper, or click on over to the new website.
Pretty cool, huh?
Keep your eyes on this space to find out what’s going on in Northeast Mississippi.
If you have anything happening, give me a call.
