TUPELO – Do the “Time Warp” at Link Centre this weekend.

As a part of its Words with Films series, Link Centre is hosting a sing-along of the cult classic “Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Friday, complete with costumes and props.

“We’re usually doing a quote-along, but this is a sing-along. The lyrics to the songs will be displayed on the screen so the audience can join in,” said Link Centre’s director of operations, Derek Russell.

“Rocky Horror” is still in limited release nearly 40 years after its release, with fans still hosting late-night screenings.

“We did ‘Rocky Horror’ a few years ago and people have been begging us to do it again,” said Melanie Deas, Link Centre executive director. “The audience participation is an experience that people of a younger generation haven’t had the opportunity to have. If there was no ‘Rocky Horror,’ there probably would be no Words with Films.”

Fans can bring their own prop bags, or prop bags will be for sale for $5.

Costumes are encouraged and there will be a costume contest.

“Rocky Horror” screens at 9:30 p.m. Friday in the Link Centre’s Reception Hall, and it’s $10.

A week after “Rocky,” the Words with Films series continues with a live script read of the romantic comedy “When Harry Met Sally” in the Link Centre’s Concert Hall.

Jonathan and Lisa Martin will star as the title roles. Carol Upton will star as Marie, James Comans will star as Jess and Allana Austin will voice various supporting roles. Deas will narrate.

“The live reads take (the series) further with local actors portraying well-loved characters,” Deas said.

The “When Harry Met Sally” live script read is 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, and it’s $10.
