TUPELO – HealthWorks! and North Mississippi Medical Center Wellness Center are serving up ample helpings of healthy spring break fun.
For parents looking to get their kids away from TV and video games, there will be half-day camps from the children’s health education center at the intersection of Industrial and Robert E. Lee drives and the fitness center on South Madison Street.
HealthWorks! will offer morning and afternoon camps March 16 and 17 that will keep kids busy making sock puppets, running relays, flinging Frisbees and making lightning and thunder.
The Give Me a Hand, Beach Blanket Hoopla and Boom, Boom, NOW! camps are open to kids 6 to 12. The Challenge Camp is open to kids 7 to 12.
“We can promise the kids will come home tired,” said Kathy Tucker, the high flying kid motivate who helps create the camps.
Costs are $20 for half day and $35 for full day with discounts for members and siblings. Kids who stay all day will need to make lunch arrangements.
NMMC Wellness is offering the Mighty Muscles camp from 1 to 3 p.m. March 15 and 16 for children 5 to 8. The kids will take in cooking classes, swimming and fun ways to exercise. Fee is $25. Call (662) 377-4147 or (800) 843-3375.
