TUPELO – This year’s Music, Monet and Margaritas is more interactive than usual.
Tupelo Community Theatre’s 10th annual street fiesta will include, of course, music, art and margaritas, but there’s a lime-flavored twist this year.
“Different Lyric Krewe members will be wearing limes at different events in the community,” said event coordinator Renee Baldwin. “If you take a picture with a person wearing the lime and post it on TCT’s Facebook, Instagram or Twitter account, you’ll get a free drink.”
Fans can find TCT on Facebook under its name, and on Twitter and Instagram as @TCTLYRIC.
This year’s event will feature food by Outback Steakhouse, music by the Jam Band and a silent auction of local artists’ works. As always, it’ll take place on Broadway Street, right in front of the Lyric.
“This is one of the most fun things to happen – it celebrates TCT and downtown Tupelo,” Baldwin said.
Proceeds raised from the fiesta will go toward educational scholarships, including scholarships for theater camp, said TCT director Tom Booth.
“There are a lot of good opportunities to use the money,” he said.
The community celebration kicks off the summer season, Baldwin said.
“It’s fun if you want to have a good time on a summer night,” she said. “It’s a perfect location, with great music and great food.”
