Terry and Yolanda Stubblefield of Ripley announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynsey Gayle Stubblefield, to Nathan Wayne Robertson, son of Jimmy Wayne and Brenda Robertson of Ripley.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Rudy Gaines of Ripley and the late Kenneth Gaines, and Sonny and Helen Stubblefield of Ecru.
She is a graduate of Ripley High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering at Mississippi State University. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Pi Mu and Tau Beta Pi, and the recipient of the Alpha Pi Mu Senior Award.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jimmy R. Robertson of Ripley and the late Jean Robertson, and Christine Jones of Dumas and the late Leroy Jones.
He is a graduate of Falkner High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy at Mississippi State University. He is the assistant western regional controller for Oil Dri Corporation of America in Ripley.

Mr. and Mrs. William L. Stroup III of Tupelo announce the engagement of their daughter, Anna Patrick Stroup, to Ryan Clark Thames, son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Thames of Abilene, Texas.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lois Ann Borden of Okolona and the late Edward Lee Borden Jr., and Jean Findlay Stroup of Tupelo and the late Dr. William L. Stroup Jr.
She is a 2002 graduate of Tupelo High School, where she was a member of the swim team, the Scholars Bowl and the Writers Guild. She is a 2006 graduate of the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn., with a bachelor of arts in studio art. She was a member and social chair of Alpha Tau Zeta Sorority, and photo editor for the Mountain Goat literary magazine. She recently worked in educational publishing for Paratext in Austin, Texas.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late W.T. and Ernestine Shirey of Abilene, and Evelyn Thames Cunningham of Merkel, Texas, and the late Walter Thames.
He is a 2001 graduate of Abilene High School in Abilene, where he was active in the theater department and on the swim team. He is a 2006 graduate of Rhodes College with a double major in English writing and anthropology/sociology. He is a graduate student and teaching assistant in the communications department at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

He is a graduate of Curry High School in Jasper, Ala. He earned a bachelor of arts in religion at Samford University and a master of divinity at Beeson Divinity School. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, H-Day/Samford Sunday, the marching band and the wind ensemble. He is a chaplain in the United States Air Force, stationed in Washington D.C.
