TUPELO – Spiffy guys and their dolled-up dames looking for a swell, ritzy time should head straight for Tupelo Symphony’s new juice joint.
If you don’t speak 1920s slang, let’s translate: Stylish men and women who want to have a good time should attend Tupelo Symphony’s “Speakeasy Jazz Brunch.”
Yes, it loses something in the translation, big cheeses and bearcats, also known as bosses and hot-blooded women.
But it’s time for the latest stop in Tupelo Symphony’s Magical Music Tour. Everyone’s invited to Link Centre from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday for brunch.
“We’ll have music by The Directors,” said Sally Kepple, chairwoman for the event. She’s also the bee’s knees, and that’s no baloney, you big palooka.
The Link Culinary Arts Program will provide some nifty food, including Chicken Alfredo Pasta, Garden Blend of Julienne Vegetables, Lemon Squares, Petite Brownies and more. There will be an open bar with a full selection of giggle water.
“We’ll have a drawing for a trip to New Orleans,” Kepple said. “The raffle tickets are $25.”
Souvenir T-shirts will be on sale for $15, and all of that dough will support the symphony’s ongoing mission of providing keen, swanky music to Northeast Mississippi.
Don’t be a wet blanket. Put on your glad rags for a hotsy-totsy late morning and early afternoon on the town.
