NEW ALBANY – “Tallahatchie on Tap” will bring beer tasting, local food, folk art and live music to the banks of the Tallahatchie River on Saturday evening.

The city’s third annual brewfest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. next to the Bankhead Street bridge. Proceeds will go toward the New Albany gateway for the Tanglefoot Trail and purchase of bike racks for downtown.

Sugaree’s Bakery and Tallahatchie Gourmet will provide food accompaniments to 23 different craft and imported beers, whose two-ounce servings will be managed by punch cards.

Folk artists represented by the Art of Dixie gallery will be set up to show and sell their work, and Oxford’s Cake Walkers will provide entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Sugaree’s Bakery for $20 or at the event for $25. The price will cover a commemorative beer glass, sampling, food and a limo shuttle to any home or hotel in New Albany.
