The man behind hit singles like “Your Love Amazes Me,” “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye” and “I Think About It All the Time” has a gig in Tupelo next week.
The Tupelo Concert Association presents country singer John Berry, the closing concert of its season.
Berry’s on tour with his wife, Robin, who performs with him.
“We have a great time,” he said in a phone interview with the Daily Journal. “Folks seem to really enjoy the show. It’s a real honest show – like, ‘Here we are.’”
The intimate, acoustic show focuses on Berry’s hit songs, as well as a few life stories.
“I talk way too much,” he said with a laugh. “I need to be quiet and sing a bit.”
He loves telling stories, so much so that his wife has compiled some of the family’s favorite tales into a book, which will be for sale at the show.
Berry plans to work on a new album later this year.
Berry has recorded some Christian music over the years, and he’s working with a producer now to determine which direction he’ll go in for the new album.
He’ll go on his annual Christmas tour this winter, too.
“I just love being on the road so much,” he said. “In fact, I’m driving the bus right now. I love it, except being away from my kids.”
