Two churches to honor Wesley brothers

By NEMS Daily Journal

The Oxford congregations of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Oxford- University United Methodist Church will celebrate a feast day honoring John and Charles Wesley with a joint service at 5:30 p.m. on March 3.
The service will also celebrate the third anniversary of the signing of the “Covenant of Common Life” a document that encourages United Methodists and Episcopalians throughout the state to study and worship together and to share fellowship in hopes of one day achieving full communion between the two churches.
The Rt. Rev. Duncan Gray III, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese Jackson, along with Bishop Hope Morgan Ward of the Mississippi Conference of the United Methodist Church will lead the service.
It will begin at St. Peter’s Parish Hall and proceed to the sanctuary at OUUMC. Everyone is welcome.
