TUPELO – Interact with your favorite movies at the Link Centre this fall.

The Words with Films series is back, full of quote-alongs, sing-alongs and a live script read.

“For the quote-alongs, the audience participates in the film. The quotes are displayed on the screen, and the audience recites along with the actors,” said Link Centre’s Derek Russell, who’s over the Words with Films series.

The season kicks off with a quote-along of “Finding Nemo” on Saturday.

“It’s our first Disney movie, and we’re excited to have a lot of families spend the evening with us,” he said.

There will be activities for kids and concessions will be sold, including bags of fish and chips: chips and Goldfish.

The next event in the series is a “Rocky Horror Picture Show” sing-along. Costumes are encouraged and prop bags will be for sale.

“It’s a cult favorite, and one a lot of people have been asking us to do for a long time,” Russell said. “This will be the most audience participatory show we’ve ever done.”

“Rocky Horror Picture Show” will screen in the reception hall at 9:30 p.m. Nov. 1, and it’s $10.

A live-read of the “When Harry Met Sally” script is set for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 in the concert hall.

Jonathan and Lisa Martin will star as Harry and Sally.

It’s $10.

Next up is the second annual “Christmas Vacation quote-along extravaganza,” Russell said. “Everybody loved it last year and insisted we do it again. It’s a new holiday tradition at Link Centre.”

In addition to quoting along with the holiday classic, fans can take their picture with the Griswold family car, enjoy hot chocolate and wear their favorite tacky sweater.

That event is set for 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at the reception hall, and it’s $10/adults, $5/students.

“Whether you’re 8 or 80, chances are you’ll enjoy one of these shows in our upcoming season,” Russell said.
