TUPELO – Titus O’Neil has been looking forward to coming to Tupelo for a while now.
At the WWE Live event at the BancorpSouth Arena on Sunday, he and his teammate, Darren Young – better known as the Prime Time Players – will match up against the Wyatt Family.
“That should be a pretty interesting night,” O’Neil said in a phone interview with the Daily Journal. “We’ll also have CM PUNK vs. Axel, and then Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara. That’ll be a great match. (Del Rio) is a World Heavyweight Champion, so I’m pretty sure he’ll give a heck of a show.”
O’Neil, a former football star, said getting ready for a show is as simple as putting on headphones.
“Everybody does something different. For me, I listen to music and try to get my mind right to go out and compete and entertain. At the end of the night, we want to put smiles on people’s faces and have the crowd going home happy,” he said.
WWE has teamed with the Susan G. Komen Foundation this month to raise breast cancer awareness, and they’ll sell pink gear for fans who want to help WWE raise money for cancer research.
O’Neil suggested fans keep up with their favorite Superstars on social media and have their cameras ready for the Tupelo show.
“You can’t go to the movies and say, oh, we got to slap five with the star, or buy the star’s merchandise or got a chance to take a picture with the star,” he said. “We want audiences to feel like they’re going to a movie, like they’re going to a game, like they’re going to the circus, all in one night.”
