Monroe County under flood warning

Members of the Hatley Fire and Rescue and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office worked with Monroe County Emergency Management Agency director Bunky Goza Wednesday morning to help a resident from a flooded area off of Hwy 278 just outside of Amory. The area, on the banks of the river, is prone to flood in instances of torrential rain. A weather system moving through the area on Christmas Day dumped close to two inches, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a flood warning for Monroe County effective until midnight.
