Man charged with drug possession following DUI arrest

ABERDEEN – An Aberdeen man has been charged with possession of crack cocaine following a traffic stop on Jan. 13.

According to a statement from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Descome Blanchard, 66, was stopped and arrested for driving under the influence. After being transported to the Monroe County Detention Center, a jailer searched Blanchard and found crack cocaine inside his shirt pocket.

Blanchard is currently on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections for possession of crack cocaine.

The North Mississippi Narcotics Unit assisted the MCSO in this case.
