NAHS picks up wins over North Pontotoc, girls defeat Lafayette

New Albany 4 North Pontotoc 1 (Girls)

The Lady Bulldogs picked  up another win Friday night, as they defeated the North Pontotoc Lady Vikings 4-1.

The first goal for New Albany was scored by Shelby Brown, who was unassisted. 

That first score was followed with a second by Jenna Davis on a feed from Brown. 

Davis found the back of the net the second time later in the game on an assist from Callie Creekmore. 

Creekmore then finished the scoring with an unassisted goal. 

Also with a strong contribution was Kaitlyn Cochran, Olivia Dunnam, Anne Maxwell, and Jasmine Vucion for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 4-0.

New Albany 2 North Pontotoc 1 (Boys)

The Bulldogs picked up their fourth win of the season as they defeated North Pontotoc 2-1 at home Friday night.

Carlos Zaragoza scored first for the Dawgs, as he was assisted by Tucker Holmes, giving New Albany the early advantage.

The Bulldogs’ second goal came later, as Jacob Rowland  scored and was assisted by Alejandro Chavez.

New Albany improved to 4-0 going into their match-up at Lafayette last Saturday with no score provided before print.

New Albany 3 Lafayette 0 (Girls)

New Albany picked up another big early sesaon win, defeating the Lafayette Lady Commodores 3-0 Saturday morning.

 Randi Stevens opened the scoring on a feed from Jordan Dunnam. 

The next two goals were both scored by Callie Creekmore, with the first of coming from a pass by Kellie Skinner and Shelby Brown. 

Creekmore’s second goal was on a pass from Jordan Dunnam. 

Paige Zahller was strong in goal for the Dawgs, making seven saves.  She was supported defensively by Estefany Fernandez, Carly Grisham, Kelsey Hodges, and Katie Luna.

Despite school being out, the Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday, as they will travel to Corinth before taking a well deserved break and traveling to Lafayette a week from Saturday, December 6.
