NAMS Bulldog News

Hey all you Bullpup fans!! I hope that everybody’s doing GREAT! It seems like we’re always busy at school doesn’t it? Well it sure does to me, but I hope that everybody can keep up with the fast pace! Don’t forget that we’re NAMS and nothing’s impossible with God!

We’re going green here at New Albany Middle School! Jonah Zahller has helped organize for recycling cans to be outside at break for each grade. One designated for plastic, and another for cans. So, no more regular trash cans… RECYCLE!! Help make the Earth greener!

We just had the book fair in the library and there were lots of good books and also cool bookmarks, pens, and other things. I hope that you found what you were looking for! Thank you Mrs. Luna for having that for us, it was great!

In Mrs. Eaton’s art class the students were learning about and painting Jackson Pollack. I’ve looked at the paintings in the hallway and let me tell you they look so good! I only wish that I had that kind of artistic talent! You students who do, don’t waste it; keep working hard if it’s something that you want to do. Both Mrs. Sword’s and Mrs. Eaton’s classes are starting their Louisiana unit. Mrs. Sword’s I/G classes are focusing on more Marti Gras things, and Mrs. Eaton’s on the New Orleans, art things. I know that this unit is going to be so much fun to learn about!

DON’T FORGET ABOUT YEARBOOKS!! They are $35 and a great way to remember another amazing school year. Especially for all you 8th graders, it’s your last year at NAMS; I know you want to remember it forever! You can also buy an add that will go in the back of the yearbook. A 1/8 page is $20, ¼ page is $40, ½ is $75, and a whole is $140. You can have your picture and a message on your add. Add money is due February 9.

Mrs. Callicutt was voted teacher of the year! Congratulations! You are an amazing teacher and we appreciate your hard work ! We at NAMS have received the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Project Fit America grant for $26,000 that includes new outdoor and indoor exercise gear!

Please don’t forget about FCA on Wednesdays at 7:15 AM in the chorus room. It’s not enough to remember it, you need to come.

God is SO amazing!! I was trying to think of something to tell you about this week, so I opened my Bible and just turned to a random place. That usually doesn’t work out for me, but this time it did! I happened to turn to Ecclesiastes 3, at the start of chapter 3 it talks about how there’s a time for everything, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to dance and to mourn, and lots of other examples.

This passage (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) spoke to me about how God’s time isn’t our time. We could pray for something right then and God have it planned for three weeks later! Don’t worry about things, God has a plan, just like Jeremiah 29:11, another one of my absolute favorite verses, says “ ‘For I know the plans I have for you’ declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” God’s plan is so amazing that there’s no way we could even wrap our minds around it! He is so huge and mighty there are things out there that we don’t have any idea about what He’s done or is doing right now! He could be saving lives in China and we are so absorbed in our own lives that we have no idea! So, think about that, and pray that God will show you His plans for your life.

“You can’t hide that Bullpup pride!”
