Pet adoptions through city of New Albany

People interested in adopting dogs now have the option to adopt a dog from New Albany’s Animal Control Officer Jim Taylor.

There is a $25 adoption fee and $7 per day is charged as well to allow the officer to feed the animal. Taylor has to keep the dog for seven days before it can be adopted. The city of New Albany has partnered with the Tupelo Humane Society, so after those seven days are up, the dog will be transferred to the Tupelo Humane Society.

A vaccination shot is included in the adoption fee. If anyone is interested in seeing the dogs that are available for adoption or to inquire more about the adoption process, feel free to call Animal Control Officer Jim Taylor at 316-7164 or call New Albany City Hall at 534-1010.

The payment has to go through New Albany City Hall.
