NAHS news, August 18, 2010

The first week back at NAHS was a big success. The halls were filled with students catching up from the summer.

Congratulations to the football team for their victory over Tupelo at the pre-season scrimmage at Vaught Hemingway Stadium. The football team went on a retreat to Camp Armstrong July 26-28. They practiced twice a day working on team building/growth exercises. Former Ole Miss football player, Jason Cook, was the motivational speaker. The girl’s basketball team went to the University of Tennessee where they focused on skills. The boy’s soccer team won first place in the East Central Community College Tournament. The softball team won first place in the Booneville Summer League.

The NAHS Cheerleaders won Camp Champs, and they brought home the first place trophy for their home pom dance. Victoria Clift, Paige Witt, Lauren Teague, and Kaitlyn Cochran made All-Star Cheerleader. Nichole Roatan attended ICC Band Camp 2010, and got top drum major over Tupelo and Booneville High. Freshmen band camp took place on July 19 -23. The full band camp took place July 26-30.

Allie Vance attended the HOBY Leadership Conference. Out of 250 at the conference, Allie was one of the fifteen to be interviewed to go to Los Angeles. Zak Johnson attended the Honors Math and Technology Camp in New Mexico on July 10-15. There he had the privilege to fly a propeller airplane.

Our first football game is Friday night at Booneville; kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Be sure to check our school website for our newest videos.
