The Fire House Poker Run is a 60-mile motorcycle ride for the best poker hand.  The Run is a part of Sherman Day and begins at 10 a.m. at the Sherman Fire Station Saturday, Sept. 11.  The cost is $20 for a single rider, $25 for double, and the cost includes lunch.  A $50 gas card and other door prizes will be awarded. 

The Bark in the Park dog show will be at 2 p.m. Best Costume and other awards will be given.

Other Sherman Day events include the 3rd annual 5K Run, BBQ Dinner, and Dinner Theater.

Bro. Don Smith brought the message at Tri-County Baptist Church Sunday morning, August 29, and the Holloway family provided the singing. Lunch was served immediately after the morning service, and there were no evening services.

The Ladies Fellowship will be Sept. 7 at 6:45 p.m. at Tri-County Baptist.

The Ripley Presbyterian worship team were the special guests Sunday night, August 29, at Sherman Baptist.  Food and fellowship followed the evening service.

Long-time Sherman resident Ms. Stella Goodson is celebrating her 95th birthday will a celebration and open house Thursday, September 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. at her new home in Fulton.

 Sympathy is extended to Mike and Martha Gunner in the death of her father, John W. “Bill” Gilbert, 94, who died Friday, August 20, at his home in Memphis.
