Ethan Dyer celebrated his Sept. 9 birthday with family and friends on Thursday, Aug. 26 at the New Albany waterpark.  Needless to say his younger brother Gavin Dyer had a ball. Happy birthday Ethan.

Congratulations North Pontotoc Vikings on you second football win this season.. Your are 2-0 with your wins against Lewisburg and Nettleton.  Hats off to our new football coach, Brian Sutton.

Happy birthday to Neal Davis who will celebrate on Sept. 2 and to Gable Todd who will celebrate on September 6th.

Remember the North Pontotoc homecoming parade is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2 in downtown Ecru with homecoming on Friday night, Sept. 3.

The North Pontotoc beauty revues are scheduled for Sept. 23, 24 and 25.

Tom Todd, Wayne and Mitzi Stokes were among several board members who attended the Three Rivers Convention in San Diego, California which was held this week.

Gretchen Moody and Lisa Holcomb attended classes for the Town of Ecru last Thursday in Tupelo.

The Class of 1990 celebrated their 20th Class Reunion the weekend of Aug. 20 and 21. The group attended the Lewisburg football game on Friday night and met for a meal and program at Sea-Food Junction on Saturday night.  A DVD was played during the meal, featuring pictures of classmates then and now with a special segment dedicated to the memory of their beloved classmate, Tiffany Hale Todd who died six years ago.

Applications for smoke alarms can be picked up at Ecru Town Hall.

The Pontotoc Fire Association received a grant for the smoke alarms and according to Fire Chief Phil Stokes, Ecru Fire Department received 75 of them.

 Qualification to be eligible for the alarms include: you must own your home and you must own the land.
