NA schools seeking public input

Members of the community that wish to address concerns, questions or comments to the New Albany School Board of Trustees will have the opportunity this week and next week.

The board will be hosting five hour-long sessions, aptly named “Listening Sessions,” for the public to address board members.
The first session will begin at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday at the New Albany Elementary School.
The board approved the motion put forward by Dr. Jason Dees during its March meeting.  As discussed in Dees’ proposal, two board members will be present at each of the hour-long sessions, along with either New Albany School District Superintendent Charles Garrett or Assistant Superintendent Jackie Ford.
“This will be a chance for questions to be asked and issues or concerns to be addressed,” said Dees.
Board members Bernice Bailey and Cathy McClinton will be present at the first session.
The remaining sessions scheduled are as follows:
Second session – Bobby Gault and Cathy McClinton, 3:15 p.m., Thursday, April 7, at New Albany Middle School
Third session – Bobby Gault and Dr. Jason Dees, 3:15 p.m., Monday, April 11, at New Albany High School.
Fourth session – Jerry Tate and Bernice Bailey, 5:30 p.m., Monday, April 11, at the Union County Library.
Fifth session – Jerry Tate and Dr. Jason Dees, 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, at the Magnolia Civic Center.
