Union County trio named to All-CSBL team

Three former Union County high school standouts were named to the All-Cotton States Baseball League team, as announced by the league this week.
Myrtle’s Beau Cummings and Jimel Judon were each named to the first team while former New Albany pitcher Tyler Basil was named an honorable mention.
Cummings boasted a 1.87 ERA with 46 strikeouts for the Tallahatchie Rascals, finishing fifth in the league in ERA. The Northeast Community College pitcher finished with a 6-3 record, allowing 14 runs this season.
Judon made the switch from the Rascals to the Tippah County Tribe and finished the year 13th in batting average. In 18 games, Judon batted .296 with 16 hits, nine RBI and a homerun for the Tribe.
A member of the league champion North Delta Dealers, Basil sppeared in five games this season, starting two and finishing with a 2.89 ERA, seventh overall in the league.The Northeast signee allowed 10 runs off six hits with 21 strikeouts in 18.2 innings pitched.
