Urchins pick up 10th win

East Union had five players in double figures scoring, leading to its 81-54 win over South Pontotoc last Thursday.

The Urchins quickly built a 21-5 lead after the first quarter, hitting four three-pointers, two from Chris Tables.
Dustin Hall and Trey Barkley each had five points in the second quarter, as the Urchins led 46-20 at the break.
Hall and Barkley each led the Urchins (10-6) with 14 points, followed by Broderick Montgomery with 13 points, D.J. Armstrong with 12 points and Tables with 11.
Kolten Ferguson, Jeremy Peagues and Austin Kimmett each had 11 points for South Pontotoc.

The Lady Cougars used a big run in the second quarter to break away for its win over East Union in the Baldwyn Rotary Classic.
Jade Anderson tied the game at seven in the first and Ashley Leach gave the Lady Urchins a brief lead at the end of the frame, but South Pontotoc answered with a 16-0 run, going ahead 23-9 before the next East Union basket.
Leach led East Union with 10 points.
East Union will next play on Tuesday, Jan. 3, traveling for a divisional match-up at Hatley.
