Many things to be thankful for

This week is a time where we all gather and remember the things we are thankful for. While I’m not the type to publish daily posts on Facebook and Twitter, talking about everything I’m thankful for this holiday season, I figured there’s not better time than now to mention a few thoughts I’ve had.
First off, like many of you, I’m thankful for a job that allows me to do what I love. Most days I don’t even consider this a job, because I have so much fun with what I do. I’ve always been an avid sports fan (clearly), and to be able to follow sports in this county and report it for all of you is truly a blessing, even if it stresses me to no end some days.
I’m also thankful for having the ability to flex my creativity in every way possible. I have the tendency to fall into a funk, doing the same things over and over, which is why I’m always coming up with something different for the sports section.
From the videos to the preview magazines and now the Player of the Week features, I’m glad I have an employer that gives me the freedom to do as I please, giving as much exposure as possible to the kids.
Most of all, I’m thankful for all of you who have put up with me, as this is now my fifth school year. I’ve met so many of you and heard many awesome stories behind the history of sports in Union County. All of you who have taken the time to hang out with me have taught me so much, and there’s still plenty more I have to learn.
I’m looking forward to giving all of you even more in the months to come. I’m not out of ideas yet, so look for even more in the future. I’ve never treated this job like it’s all about me; it’s always been about the kids and giving them the exposure they deserve.
Thanks again to all of you and have a blessed holiday season!
