Oma Pannell, 71

Oma Velma Pannell, 71, of Ecru, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Community Hospice House in Verona.

She was born on April 26, 1941, in New Albany, the daughter of Clyde and Louise Brewer Gullick. She was a member of Cairo Baptist Church and a retired employee of Mohasco. She enjoyed quilting as a hobby.

Services were at noon Friday, Jan. 4, at Cairo Baptist Church with Bro. Don Sparks and Bro. Terrel Perminter officiating. Burial was in Ecru Cemetery. Glenfield Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Howard (Jessie) and Curtis Howard (Donna), all of Jackson, and Michael Howard (Melonia) of Etta; daughter, Lynn Murphy of Ecru; two brothers, Clyde Gullick Jr. of Myrtle and the Rev. William Gullick of Lynnwood, Wash.; one sister, Ann Jarvis of New Albany; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bonny Pannell; and a daughter, Rita Roberts.

Pallbearers were the deacons of Cairo Baptist Church and Jerry Rickles.
