Magnolia Cole, 89

Magnolia “Mag” Cole, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Union County Health and Rehab.
She was born June 12, 1923, in Jackson, Tenn., to Jessie A. Johnson and Nettie Parks Johnson. She was a member of Watson Grove M.B. Church. She retired from Mohasco Furniture and later did domestic work.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Watson Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Avence Pittman officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home of New Albany was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a nephew she raised as her son, Thomas Earl McClellen; two sisters, Izona V. Davis of Memphis and Clara Nell Rovers of Boliver, Tenn.; two brothers, Calvin (Shirley) Johnson of Chicago and Charles Johnson of Medon, Tenn.; a brother-in-law, Willie Ed Cole of New Albany; her godson and caregiver, Thomas Earl McClellan; a special friend, Virginia Hooper; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murry “Bad Eye” Cole, and her parents.
