Callie Hale, 74

Callie Pearl Crouch Hale, 74, of Tupelo, died unexpectedly, Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at her residence in Tupelo.
She was born July 30, 1938, in the Potts Camp Community of Marshall County to James Thomas Crouch and Vernie Ash Crouch. She graduated from Potts Camp High School where she was a basketball player. She married William Floyd Hale on June 15, 1974, and they enjoyed 38 years together. A faithful member of the Gloster Street Church of Christ, she was a master homemaker. Callie loved her home, her yard, gardening, working crossword puzzles, watching football games with her husband, and all God’s creation, especially lakes, rivers and ponds where she could fish. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, known affectionately as Mee Mee and Grandmother.
A service celebrating her life was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Tupelo chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Minister Chad Ramsey officiating with her grandson, Bro. Shan Cobb and her son, Bro. Bill Hale delivering personal reflections. Condolences may be emailed to
Survivors include her husband, Floyd Hale of Tupelo; six children, Janie Cobb (Pete) of New Albany, Debbie Mitchell (David) of Pound, Wis., Bill Hale (Carolyn) of Sevierville, Tenn., Vaughn Hale of Mathiston, Cindy Emerson (Jimmy) of Murray, Ky., and Louis Cervantes (Suzanne) of Tupelo; sister, Linda Algee of Kossuth; and brother, David Crouch, of Potts Camp; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Linda Hale and Steve Hale; one grandchild, Melissa Knight; and three siblings, Evelyn Green, Mary Russell, and Thurman Crouch.
Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Jonathan Cobb, Shannon Cobb, Michael Knight, Patrick Knight, Phillip Laney, Jay Emerson, Sam Cervantes, and Chase Cervantes.
