Kenny Wayne Bishop, 61, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Feb. 24, 1952, in Union County to Clarence Daniel Bishop and Sally Ruth Bishop Whiteside. He served during the Vietnam War in the Mississippi National Guard. He was a truck driver for Callicutt Trucking. He was a member of Wells Chapel Church. He loved fishing, auto racing and motorcycles.
Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11,  in United Funeral Service chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Carr officiating. Burial was in the Academy Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany was in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Dottie McAlister of New Albany; his mother, Sally Ruth Bishop Whiteside of New Albany; a stepdaughter, Stephanie McNeely (Robert) of Cotton Plant; a brother, Rob Bishop (Linda) of New Albany; a half brother, Fred Bishop (Amanda) of Pensacola, Fla.; and a grandson, Mason McNeely.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Daniel Bishop, and his stepfather, Ed Whiteside.
Pallbearers were C.D. Bishop, Robby Bishop, Daniel Bishop, Jimmy Callicutt, Lane Heard, Robert McNeely and Daryl Nichols.
In honor of Mr. Bishop, United Funeral Service Inc. flew the flag of the U.S. Army at the funeral home during visitation and service.
