Johnny Moody, 62

John Lesley “Johnny” Moody, 62, of Nettleton, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, in Nettleton after a long illness.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1950, in New Albany to Leroy Moody and Annie Tibwell Moody. He grew up in the Martintown community of Union County and had resided in the Nettleton area the last 40 years. He was formerly a truck driver and later was a plumber for Nash Plumbing Company before becoming disabled. A Baptist, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and piddling with old cars as a “shade tree” mechanic.
A service celebrating his life was held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Nettleton Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Mac Phillips officiating. Burial was in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Moore (Jackson) of Nettleton, Tina Hawkins (Jimmy) of Hamilton and Nancy Moody of New Albany; his son, Johnny Moody Jr. of Nettleton; a brother, Clyde Moody (Glenda) of Nettleton; a sister, Diane Hale of Kennett, Mo.; six grandchildren; and his caregiver and the mother of his children, Martha Freshour of Nettleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Moody.
Pallbearers were Thomas Moody, Michael Moody, Nick McDaniel, Wiley Hallmark, James Goss and Johnny Justice.
