N.T. Duncan, 88

N.T. Duncan, 88, of Ripley, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, in New Albany.
He was born Sept. 3, 1924, to Turner and Georgie Roaten Duncan. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a retired independent contractor in the construction business. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Ripley Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Scott Hudson officiating. Burial was in Church Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Stark Duncan of Amory; one daughter, Susan Duncan West of Ripley; one son, John Robert Duncan of Amory; one sister, Winnie Abbott (Dale) of Ripley; one brother, Hershel Duncan (Nell) of Olive Branch; seven grandchildren, Kristin Duncan of Florence, Ala., Cody Duncan and Brody Duncan, both of Amory, Victoria Duncan of New Albany, Myra Mooney of Arkansas, Jessie Morton of Starkville and Jared Brittian Monagan of Amory; and two great-grandchildren, Cole Mooney and Alanna Hillis, both of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Norman Duncan; and one brother, Wayne Duncan.
Pallbearers were the Naval Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers were CB Gates, James Harrison, Pat Hopper, Dale Abbott, Bobby Joe Crumpton, Sammy Crawford, Gene Tate, J. W. Duncan, Gen. Dr. Horton Taylor, Sgt. James Taylor, Mark Duncan, Joe Duncan, Keri Walker, Randy Dunnam, Chase Garrison and John Callihan.
