Sharon Hudson, 56

Sharon Gurley Hudson, 56, of Blue Springs, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, from injuries received in a vehicular accident.
She was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Tupelo to Charles E. Gurley and Mary Jo Gurley. She was a longtime resident of Tupelo, where she graduated from high school. She attended Mississippi State University. After graduation she traveled to markets across the U.S. as a clothing buyer. She eventually settled in Tupelo, where she was employed at The Velveteen Rabbit and later Old Friends Clothing Co. In 1999 she and her family moved from Tupelo to Blue Springs, where she was a stay-at-home mom, actively involved in PTO. A devoted MSU Bulldogs fan, she enjoyed working in her yard and cooking for her family. A loving wife, mother and “MeMe,” she was dedicated to her family and friends and lived her life fully with dignity, generosity and great warmth.
A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Her uncle, Benny Dodson, officiated. Burial was in Camp Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Robert M. Hudson III of Blue Springs; daughter, Jennifer Hudson of Starkville; son, Matthew (Britney) of Blue Springs; two grandchildren, Levi and Mila Hudson; her father, Charles E. Gurley, and sister, Tina Foster, both of Blue Springs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jo Gurley.
