Scott signs with Northwest tennis

One of the major contributors to two state championships in tennis for New Albany now has the opportunity to play at the next level.

Christian Scott had several options when choosing which college he would play at, and he’s looking forward to joining the program at Northwest Community College.
“I’ve always wanted to play tennis in college, so it’s great to be able to do this,” he said.
“It will be different, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
While with the Bulldogs, Scott held a record of 339-192, and along with his twin brother Christopher, helped New Albany to state championships in 2012 and 2013, playing in the number one doubles spot.
“He’s played for us since the eighth grade, and I’ve watched him improve over the years,” New Albany tennis coach Warner Creekmore said. “Both he and his brother work really hard, going back and forth to Memphis with their coaches. His leadership has matured, and he’s matured as a player.”
Scott will be one of the main players the Rangers will look toward in the next two seasons, as they return a young squad.
“They have new tennis courts, and as far as the team, they’re rebuilding after losing most of the team,” Scott said of Northwest.
After playing for Northwest, Scott hopes to move on, possibly to Ole Miss, to pursue a degree in the medical field.
