James Brownlee, 52

James Allen Brownlee, 52, of Dresden, Tenn., died Saturday, June 1, 2013, at his home in Dresden, Tenn.
He was born March 25, 1961, in New Albany to Ray and Marjorie Brownlee. A 1980 graduate of Myrtle High School, he was a 1984 graduate of Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Farm House Fraternity. He worked as an environmental specialist with the Tennessee Department of Health for more than 15 years. He enjoyed his years farming with his father. An avid reader of science fiction, he loved studying space exploration and technology, movies and building models. He was a devoted father and cherished his time with his children.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, at United Funeral Service chapel in New Albany with Bro. Tommy Peters officiating. United Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children, Danielle Caitlyn Brownlee and Martin Chase Brownlee, both of McKenzie, Tenn.; and three siblings: David Brownlee of Memphis, Anne (Dave) Gullick of Collierville, Tenn., and Janice Brownlee Waller of Pontotoc.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William “Bill” Brownlee.
Memorials may be made to Old Oak Grove Baptist Church in memory of his parents or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
