Ruth Sewell, 84

Ella Ruth Perry Sewell, 84, of Pontotoc, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Church Street Personal Care Home in Ecru.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pontotoc, where she worked in the Nursery Department for over 50 years and was a member of the WMU. She was a retired administrative assistant at the Mississippi Department of Human Services and a former Jaycette. She enjoyed growing flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, and cooking for her family and friends.
Services were at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at First Baptist Church in Pontotoc with Dr. Ken Hester and Dr. Don Winter officiating. Burial was in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Reece (Keith) of Tupelo; one son, Perry Sewell (Sharen) of Pontotoc; one sister, Maxine Cobb (John Ray) of New Albany; three grandchildren, Ian Boswell of South Lake Tahoe, Calif., Haley Sewell and Wesley Sewell, both of Pontotoc; and special friends, David and Bobbie Harrelson of Pontotoc.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Perry and Trebye Bullock Perry; her husband of 64 years, Billy Joe Sewell; an infant son: and two granddaughters, Kathryn Bethany Reece and Ilisabeth Anna Reece.
Pallbearers were Ian Boswell, Wesley Sewell, Johnny Cobb, David Helms, David Harrelson and Judge Fred Wicker. Honorary pallbearers were the staff at Church Street Personal Care Home.
