Main Street Youth Committee meeting
Anyone in grades nine through 12 is encouraged to join the New Albany Main Street Youth Committee. The next meeting is Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the Magnolia Civic Center. If you are interested in joining call Vickie Duke, New Albany Main Street Manager at 662-534-3438.
The Sanctuary to have 11th anniversary
The Sanctuary of New Albany will celebrate its 11-year anniversary Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. with special ministry by Jerry Holland. Services continue on Sept. 9and 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Enterprise Baptist Church Bible Conference
Enterprise Baptist Church will hold its 11th annual Labor Day Bible Conference on Friday, August 30 – Monday, September 2, 2013. Pastor Tony Monk and the church invite you. Morning and evening services start at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. The conference starts with Friday supper at 6 p.m. and ends with Monday Lunch at noon. Breakfast served at 8 a.m. each morning. Conference Preachers: Dr. Ed McAbee, Bro. Larry Winkler, Bro. Kevin Merritt, Bro. Allen Gullick and Dr. Ronnie Barefield. Other preachers will be called on as the Lord leads.
Sanford Family Reunion
The Sim and Viola Sanford Family Reunion will be Aug. 31 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:00. Please bring a covered dish, dessert and soda or tea.
Beaver Dam M.B. Church annual Mission Fellowship Program
Beaver Dam M.B. Church is holding its Annual Mission Fellowship Program and Luncheon on Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. The theme is Laboring together with God. Subtitle: Team Work. Sister Gloria Webber from East Baptist Church in Pontotoc will be the guest speaker.
Tupelo Community Theatre news and coming events

Tupelo theatre group looking for interns
Tupelo Community Theatre is seeking college interns for summer, fall and spring semesters. Students’ working hours are flexible and they are exposed to all areas of theatre operations. Grief Support Groups
Amedisys Hospice currently offers three grief support groups throughout its service area. Booneville Support Group- meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the auditorium of the George E. Allen Library. New Albany Support Group- meets every 2nd Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the New Albany First United Methodist Church. Tupelo Support Group- begins January 18, 2011, and a set date will be announced. These groups are open to the public and are free of charge. You are welcome at any meeting that Amedisys Hospice offers. Drug and Alcohol Recovery Meetings
“Pathway To Freedom” is a drug and alcohol recovery program sponsored by The Church of Acts. Meetings are free and are held every Sunday and Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. The “Pathway To Freedom” meetings started in 2005 and have been meeting for the past eight years. There are other recovery meetings held in this area at different times and days. For more information or directions call Pastor Charlie Ganey at 662-266-3546.
