Pilot Club Snowflake Ball set for March 1

By Angie Barmer

It’s time again for fathers and daughters to dress up and go out for a special evening together at the Father/Daughter Snowflake Ball.

The fourth annual Father/Daughter Snowflake Ball is sponsored by the Pilot Club of New Albany, will offer an evening of music, dancing, food, magic, and more for the father/daughter couple.

This event began four years ago as a fundraiser for the Pilot Club, which focuses on brain-related disorders and injuries.

It has now turned into a huge success and Pilot Club members hope that many fathers and daughters come and enjoy the evening together.

A deejay will be playing all kinds of dance music, there will be a chance to have photos taken to commemorate the special evening, dinner will be served, a magician will host a magic show, and balloons will be made as well. Girls will also have the chance to make marshmallow snowmen and snowflake necklaces. The attire is semi-formal/dressy.

Dinner will be served at the ball and will consist of chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, and twice-baked potatoes. Price is included in the registration fee.

There will also be a raffle drawing for two bicycles for a father and daughter that are being donated by Bancorp South. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase. The winner must be present to win.

The event will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church gymnasium. The ages are from 4 years old up to sixth grade.

Reservations are required to attend this event and the couple is asked to check in at the door. The cost for a father and daughter is $40 per couple and $10 per additional girl.

T-shirts can be purchased as a keepsake for this event for $13. Shirts can be ordered and paid for in advance and sizes must be indicated on the registration form or they can be purchased at the event.

For more information or to register for the ball, contact Jennifer Cobb at 662-534-7922.

Cash or check is accepted for everything at this event.

All of the proceeds from this event will be used to further the Pilot Club of New Albany’s projects.
