Hed: New film series starts Thursday
The Independent Film Series will open at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Link Centre.
The first movie will be “Brick by Brick,” which follows a long-running civil rights case in New York.

Hed: Another chance to see award-winning play
Tupelo Community Theatre will present a free performance of Pulitzer and Tony award-winning play “Doubt” at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Lyric Theatre.
“Doubt” won Best Production, Scenic Design, Overall Technical Excellence, Best Actress and two All-Star Cast awards at the Mississippi Theatre Association in January. TCT will stage the play at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Chattanooga, Tenn., on March 8.

Famous jazz band to play at MSU
New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday at Mississippi State University’s Lee Hall auditorium.

Cypress Moon Productions has tentative plans to film portions of “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” in Philadelphia.
Men, women and children from ages 7 and up are invited to an extra’s casting call from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Neshoba County Arts Council Theatre (the old Ellis Theatre).
