Police in Mississippi say a judge has kept bond at $100,000 for a conservative Mississippi blogger who is accused of photographing the bedridden wife of Republican U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran without permission.

Madison Assistant Chief Robert Sanders says the judge scheduled a preliminary hearing Thursday for 28-year-old Clayton Kelly.

Kelly was arrested late Friday on a charge of exploiting a vulnerable adult. He’s accused of using an image of Cochran’s wife in an online video.

State Sen. Chris McDaniel is challenging the six-term senator in a GOP primary. McDaniel says he does not have any ties to Kelly.

Spokesmen for both campaigns say they learned about the video April 26.

As least this will give McDaniel an excuse as to why he got beat.

This campaign has definitely been a race to see who can sink the lowest. One-upping your opponent with sleaze doesn’t attract intelligent voters. What this moron did is beyond the pale, but a look at his online work and it’s not surprising.

It has affirmed two things: each political party has its loons/idiots, and the tea potty attracts simpletons/crazies/far right fringe like cow pies. The denial voicemail from neo-confederate dolt’s camp is amusing. They totally/probably/allegedly knew nothing of this creepo blogger and his work–despite admitting it in said voicemail.

But rest assured, Mr. Kelly’s readers and supporters can pay his bail and buy him some commissary snacks. Freedumb demands it.

No doubt there is more to this than meets the eye at this stage. However, the truth will out eventually and then surprise, surprise.
